Big Ben is a London Icon. I liked the perspective of the bridge and light on the river as leading lines. Photographed with the Tamron 15-30 f/2.8 wide angle, on the Manfrotto be free tripod. I took this shot from several different places along the river and at several different elevations, both lower and higher. I found a little nook, in between the river and the bridge and created this image. After I took this shot and the image showed up on my screen a bunch of photographers squeezed in to the spot where I was and tried to replicate the photo.
The changing of the guard comes with great precision, pomp and circumstance. I'm not really sure how the second row of soldiers in this shot can see. The two closest to me had hats that looked like they covered their eyes. If you ever want to photograph the changing of the guards, I'd suggest getting there at least an hour to two hours early. On the Sunday I was there, it was completely jammed with thousands of people, and this was not even in the peak summer travel season. Canon 7D Mk 2 | Tamron 16-300.
