Guns recovered in an LAPD buy-back program were ground down and made into sculptures by L.A. based artist Victor Hugo Zayas. I photographed the entire process from gun collection, destruction, welding of the sculptures and the opening of Mr. Zayas exhibit at the Laguna Art Museum
An LAPD officer guards seized guns. One of Mr. Zayas' sculptures made from guns in the foreground.
Sketch books and studies of L.A. painter and sculptor Victor Hugo Zayas
Inside cover of the catalog of Victor Hugo Zayas' work "Mi Obra" published by the Laguna Art Museum in 2012. Always nice to get photo credit. The exhibit also featured a few of my images. This was the first time I have had images in a museum and it was really exciting to see the images on the wall opening night. Victor's paintings and sculptures are truly amazing. It was fantastic to work with him on this project. http://lagunaartmuseum.org/shop/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=538
