Downtown Los Angeles 110
If you are a photographer and you live in Los Angeles it is almost obligatory to photograph Downtown Los Angeles and the 110 freeway at night. I've resisted it for a long time, not wanting to copy any else's interpretation. Recently, I found myself Downtown at night after a location portrait shoot, and I felt inspired to give this a go. I walked around for a while, considered the angels and vantage points while trying not to get hammered by the speeding traffic. Seriously, it is dark and dangerous so you have to have you wits about you.
I opted not to photograph a long view of the traffic (north/south) on the 110, but instead took a cross section (east/west). What I really like about this shot is the use of negative space between the two bridges to bring you into the photograph.
